Massif de la Selle
The Massif de la selle is in the south west region of Haiti. The mountains run east for 45 miles.  It is also the highest range in haiti. The highest peak is 8793 feet above sea level. The ranges were formed by two tectonic plates colliding. Even though they are under two tectonic plates, the North American and the Caribbean plates, they don’t have that many earthquakes. The mountains have a lot of different rivers. The river leads into Cul-de-sac. Cul-de-sac is a big part of Haiti's agriculture. The mountains help to regulate Haiti's climate and weather. They bring in cool water from the Caribbean sea. The ranges are filled with a lot of different animals; the main ones are the Hispaniolan emerald Hispaniolan solenodon, and the Hispaniolan parrot. The mammals are Hispaniolan Spiny Rat and the Hispaniolan Island Shrew. They have reptiles such as Hispaniolan giant anole and the Hispaniolan solenodon. It is important to Haiti because it if a very important in the culture of haiti.
